Dear friends,

Thank you for all of your support during the recent campaign.

I am grateful for all that you did to provide encouragement, volunteer, contribute, participate in the caucuses, organize, and support us throughout the convention process.

We can be proud of what we have accomplished in offering a strong, progressive choice for Minnesota. Although we were unsuccessful in gaining the party nomination, we spelled out a bold vision and agenda that encouraged many people, and that changed the issues that the candidates were addressing.

It was very encouraging that other candidates moved to support many parts of the agenda that our campaign offered. I am particularly pleased that since our newly-endorsed candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher began supporting supporting the Minnesota Health Plan last November, she has grown in that commitment. She recognizes that the MHP provides health care to everyone, keeping people healthy and saving money, and has been talking about the need for this reform in interviews since the convention. Margaret's commitment to working with us to get the Minnesota Health Plan signed into law within two years, will save many families and businesses from being bankrupted by health care costs. This would be an incredible legacy from our campaign.

I also want to thank Senator Patricia Torres Ray for being such a great running mate. She offered hope and inspiration to many, and would have become an outstanding Lieutenant Governor.

Our state faces many great challenges in the coming years. At this time, I turn my attention to getting reelected to the Senate so that I can continue my work there. I look forward to working with you on building a better future for Minnesota.

Once again, thank you for all of your support and encouragement. I am honored to have received your support, and will continue to do my best to earn your trust.
